A wedding in Hawaii

I have a great friend, Kara. I love her.

Her and her husband were married on the beach in Kauai this month! Isn't that romantic?
I'm jealous!
They came back from bliss to celebrate and she asked me to make her wedding cake!
With a Hawaiian theme, I thought her design was perfect!!

Leaves & Twigs Wedding cake

I did this wedding cake for a very close friend of ours who got married on Saturday. They are SUCH a cute couple and we are very excited that they have started their life together!! Many happy wishes to them!
This cake was funfetti cake on top and bottom, and the middle tier was white cake with raspberry filling. The design was from the bride. It matched very well with her decorations.

The grooms cake. This was a special request from the groom. He told me "I dont really care about the cake, I just want chocolate covered strawberries!" So we made them tuxedos!
It was chocolate cake with strawberry cream filling. Chocolate buttercream, covered in chocolate ganache. A couple of the strawberries went missing during the reception too! Haha

I really enjoyed doing these cakes. I loved the challenge, since it was a different design, I thought it was fun!

Really Far Behind

Sorry it's been so long. Here are the cakes I've done in the last month:

We had 4 of our friends who had birthday's in March. So I made one cake for all of them. I did individual items to represent each person.

My Brother in Law's birthday was in March also. He LOVES hockey!

Two Birthdays

These are birthday cakes for my Mom and Brother in Law
My mom LOVES making jewelry. So I did the jewelry theme, put a strand of pearls and some extra "gems" on it. It turned out very pretty. I love the marbleized fondant. (It looks blue, but it was a deep purple) Purple and pink pearls around the base
My brother in laws:
Cody loves sports. One of them is golf! So I did this cake for him. I really liked how this one turned out!
The first cake is White cake with Strawberry cream filling, the second cake is Yellow cake with Chocolate cream filling.
Happy Birthday!

Baby Shower Cake

I attended my cousins baby shower this weekend. I made this cake for it:Isn't he cute?!?

I really loved the creativity with this cake. I made the buttons and just fell in love with them. I just cut them out with a small cookie cutter, took the end of my paint brush and made the holes, then shook about some in blue pearl dust, some in green pearl dust and some in just white pearl dust. They turned out adorable. The baby has my heart. He's the cutest little thing I've ever made! I really wish I had done fondant lettering on this. I smeared the BOY letters as I was walking out of my house to go to the shower. I was pretty upset. But Oh well, what can you do. I just fixed it the best I could!

Also, I need to experiment with the wire more that I used to put the moon and stars on. I made more stars than this but a lot of the broke and wouldn't stay on the wire. So I'll have to practice that.

As for the food, I did not make that, but it was AMAZING!

Over all, I was very pleased with this cake.
